I searched high and low for an “Angry Bird’s Valentine’s Day” cards packet for Thing 1′s kindergarten class party. Mainly a packet that didn’t have some lame greeting on them. I found none. Thing 1 loves, LOVES Angry Birds, but only by default since it is one of the only things that keeps him occupied while we are waiting in line for something. By the way, why couldn’t they make this game’s name something more pleasant, like fly birds, or catapult birds? I get the premise, but I have my 2 year old running around in his diaper asking where his “Angry Bird” is? (We had to buy him one too, for the sake of the family’s sanity. You know how it goes.)
Anyway, I got my craft on and decided to make some printouts. I used an image by Schumacher94 - http://schumacher94.deviantart.com. (Giving proper credit where credit is due!) Here is his image of the fun Angry Birds gang. Super cool and talented!
My wording is very generic, but the front of the card is where the money is. Plus, it shows ALL the birds! Thing 1 was happy with the end result, and that was all that mattered.
- When I printed them out, I made a .pdf file of the image (I did it for you as well) so it was easy to get all four cards on one card stock. Trying to be green people. I printed 7 sheets since there are 25 in his class. Same for the To/From backside. (Note: The Angry Birds font can be downloaded at dafont.com if you have another project.) Also, when doing this project, change your printer settings to have no boarders and to expand to the edge of the pages. Why waste paper?
- I have a nifty sticker maker that I found a printout for. THIS rocked my world, because it saved time and money by not going to Walmart and I thought the stickers were cute for what they are worth. BIG bonus for my five year old too! I cut the circle stickers out using 1 1/2″ circle hole punchers (the larger size). My boy placed one sticker on the back side of the Valentine’s and one on the 5 1/2″ X 4″ envelopes we had.
- I cut the cards using my personal paper trimmer by Creative Memories. Super slick! To embellish we placed a piece of candy in the envelope. So much fun!
